My display is factory calibrated. Why do I need end-user calibration?Factory calibrations for mass-market displays are often basic, aiming to be ‘good enough’ for general use. True precision requires individual calibration, which is more common in specialized displays but still not to the extent an end user might do with advanced tools and time. Plus, a lot of unnecessary or even distructive settings are enabled by default, such as Energy Saving. For the same reason, you can't trust calibration offered on purchase by a seller. Over time display ages/drifts and software updates can mess up the settings as well.
-
How long is the calibration session? It mainly depends on your setup, number of displays and profiles/scenarios to be calibrated. The minimum time is 1 hour per display/profile.
-
How can I check if my TV/Monitor model supports calibration?Any display can be calibrated to some extent. Some hardware allows the uploading of custom 1D, 3D LUTs or the adjustment of the Color Management System. If your display is connected to video processing hardware such as a PC/Mac computer, an AV processor, a converter, or a LUT box, the video processing unit should be calibrated to send the desired signal to the screen. It's impossible to list all supported models since the hardware and the software constantly being updated. Fill the form below and we tell you what calibration capacity your setup has.
-
How often should a display be calibrated? All displays drift/age, with different display technologies drifting/ageing at different rates. But all drift/age far quicker than many think… Therefore, all displays should be verified on a regular basis - every 6 to 12 months
